Namibian Research Permit renewed & project progress report
Updated: Apr 27, 2022
Ongoing mapping of literature review of historical journeys by an array of colonial actors for our 4th work package, "Spatialising coloniality in Etosha-Kunene".
In March 2022 we submitted our application for renewal of our research permit to the Namibia's National Commission for Research, Science and Technology (NCRST).
Following scrutiny of our project Progress Report by the Research and Ethics Committee of Namibia's Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT-REC), we can happily report that our permit has been renewed, with no requested changes.
The Chair of MEFT-REC, Mr Kenneth |Uiseb, MEFT's Deputy Director for Wildlife Monitoring and Research, commented on the "incredible research" the project has already achieved, especially given constraints due to COVID-19.
